Meet Meg Culmo

Director

During  an incredibly successful All Big East career for the UConn Huskies, Meg was a leader  on Geno’s first Big East Championship and NCAA tournament team and later joined his coaching staff, who led the Huskies to their first National Championship title. Since then, Meg has established herself as a broadcaster and color analyst across a variety of radio and TV stations, including ESPN and SNY for the past 25 years. Additionally, she has held a strong reputation in the business world as a lobbyist and consultant throughout Connecticut and this country for the past 25 years as well.

Prior to becoming who she is today, she was a young girl in a house full of brothers whose life was changed by discovering the game of basketball. Now, she’s on a mission to show young girls (in a house full of brothers or not) just how special this sport can be.

Meg attributes her leadership qualities, tenacity, success and soulfulness to the lessons she learned playing this sport.

“Teaching the sport to the next generation is a gift,” said Meg. “I consider myself lucky to give back to the game from which I have gotten so much.”

Today, Meg is one of the co-founders of BattleCon - an AAU girls basketball program, which will start in the spring of 2022.

Carys Baker

Carys Baker is in her third year at Camp Culmo and is wildly popular with the campers! Her nice, easy going personality makes her a natural teaching the game she loves to kids. She attends Loomis Chaffee High School and is a standout on the basketball team. She grew up in West Hartford and went to Norfeldt Elementary and King Philip Middle School. She will pursure her dream of playing college basketball, accepting a scholarship to play a Virginia Tech University!

She's excited to come back to the Meg Culmo Basketball Camp and help kids reach their potential on the court as well as off.
